Imagine if each company used payed for their product placement, what this little movie would be worth. It’s a matter of time before some agency does the same thing for the superbowl. It recently won the best short movie award at the 2010 Oscar and is now available on itunes.

What is One Day Without Shoes? On April 8, 2010, you can take part in an effort to bring attention to the impact a simple pair of shoes can bring to a child’s life. Toms asks people to go the day, part of the day, or even just a few minutes, barefoot, to experience a life without shoes first-hand, and to help spread awareness.

Add a rainbow to your day

I love when you can change the character of something truly two-dimensional and printed into an ethereal experience. By the simple action of flipping the pages of this otherwise inconspicuous book, you create the illusion of holding a rainbow in your hands. The Rainbow In Your Hands flip book is an amazingly simple but beautiful design by Masashi Kawamura. (via design related)

A short film about Comic Sans and why it is so overused… and also hated. People’s reactions to the typeface are interesting, although not as thoughtful you’d imagine. The one girl stating that its appropriate in the Sprite and Starbucks logo and not in the Harry Potter book cover because you “read Harry Potter, but drink Sprite” was hysterical. (via abuzeedo)

Carry Hope is looking for designs

March 3rd, 2010 | Good | No Comments | Share on Facebook

Print Magazine asked 12 leading visual artists to design a tote bag for the cause of their choice. The project is called “Carry Hope,” and 100% of the profits will go to charity. It is now an open invitation to the public to compete and be featured in the magazine in addition to having your design printed. You can get more information Here. I’m already thinking about what cause, and design to do myself.

Bureaucratics around the world

For seven years Jan Banning studied the cultures of some of the world’s (China, USA, India, Liberia, Russia, France and Bolivia) public administration offices and the bureaucrats. The comparisons between their environments are fascinating.
